Résumé

This paper examines the critical importance of early childhood education as the foundation of the educational system in Nigeria and the role that stakeholders play in scaling up quality, standards and accessibility of this level of education via policy and curriculum. Through an examination of existing policies, curriculum frameworks, and the roles of various stakeholders, this paper sheds light on potential strategies to scale up early childhood education in Nigeria. Through a different range of literature reviews and research findings, the paper explores the challenges and opportunities confronting early childhood education in Nigeria, offering recommendations for policy improvements, provision of expedient curriculum that is in tandem with the holistic nature of children learning and collaborative efforts among stakeholders to promote quality education of children in the early years.
